Once you decide that you want or need a website, it's a good idea to look at a lot of websites with the same purpose that yours will have. Take note of what you like and don't like, and write it down. Decide what colors you'd like to see on your website. Do you want a lot of pictures or a big slideshow? Videos? Do you want an "About Us" page or a "Contact" page? A map showing your location? Links to other websites? Make as many decisions as you can ahead of time and write it all down. Providing that information to your website developer will be very helpful and will allow a more accurate estimate of the cost up front.
